Creating a Seminar and Classroom
Creating your own Live Classroom or Seminar can be done by visiting your Teacher's Office. In this section, you can Create or Manage all your items.
After your Live Classroom or Seminar has been created, it needs to be approved by our support team. We will analyze the schedule you have assigned to it, as well as the Price of the item. Approval could take up to 48 hours. Contact us if you would like to speed up one of your approvals.
Once your item has been approved, it will be available to all users for purchase! Note that you can make any item private when creating it by assigning a password. Only users who have this password will be able to purchase the item.
Launching the Interactive Interface
Congratulations! You are ready to Teach Online!
You can launch the Interface by visiting the item's profile page and clicking on the "Launch" button. The technology we use is Flash, so it will only work on browsers which support it. We recommend to download Chrome or Firefox
We noticed some issues in Windows Vista and Windows XP using our APP in Chrome and Firefox, but Internet Explorer seems to work fine. We are investigating those issues.
Using the Interactive Interface
Once you have launched the APP, you will be able as a HOST to use the main Camera Feed and have full control of your classroom. By default All users can only see the Host, but by turning on Live Discussion, you can have upto 10 simultaneous users communicating with their cameras.
An interactive whiteboard can be used to draw objects and shapes, write text, or share uploaded files from the File Upload section of the APP. You could even pass the controls of the whiteboard to a student through the Users tab
Users have the option to Raise their hand during the Live Event. The host has the option to speak with the student in Private or Public. Private questions are between the Host and the user only, as opposed to a public question which can be seen by all users.
We are currently working on integrading Screen share and also sharing .ppt, .doc and .xls files. Until then you can use a service called Google docs to share these type of documents with your students. They will be able to see you edit them on the fly!
